GUWAHATI: A person named Bitupan Gogoi, a resident of Merapani in the Golaghat district, has been arrested for making derogatory remarks about the Kamakhya temple here.

According to police sources, Gogoi has been arrested in connection with a case registered at the Jalukbari Police Station (No. 172/22 u/s 253(a)/295(a)/505(1)(c)(2) IPC), after he made derogatory comments about the shrine on Facebook.
